Gair Of RajasthanThe male dancers swirl using sticks to create a rhythmic beat by striking them against each other, giving the dance a vigorous character. The men wear long pleated tunics that open out into full length skirts.
The Geendad of Shekhawati and the Dandia Gair in the Marwar region are the two variations of this dance form. In the Gair Ghoomar women form a small inner circle, encompassed by the men. As the dance proceeds the participants change places with the women forming the large outer circle.
